MARSH LANE PRIMARY SCHOOL
To celebrate National Anti-bullying Week/Friendship Week, at Marsh Lane, we held a Disney themed Friendship Day. The children spent the day going into the different classrooms making different Disney themed crafts. Throughout the day, the children made bookmarks, Christmas tree decorations, fondant icing Olaf's, designed a new outfit for a Disney character, made some Aladdin artwork using paper plates and created some Mickey Mouse paper chain for the display. We also had 2 winners for the best Disney outfit and the winners were Abigail from Year 3 and Oskar from Year 1.
Year 2 have coloured in some poppies ready for Monday when we remember the soldiers and animals that lost their lives. Please walk past the Year 2 classroom and have a look.
The Explorer's class room has been turned into a Witches and Wizards Workshop.
The children have rally enjoyed exploring the story Room on the Broom.
The weather did not put us off, the key stage 1 children enjoyed weeding, clearing rubbish, planting new plants, making dens and making bird feeders. We hope to complete many of the other exciting activities we had planned once the weather improves.

On Wednesday, Reception and KS1 went to Conisbrough Castle. It was a fantastic day with the children doing lots of fun sessions whilst at the castle. Reception and half of Year 1 looked at Medieval artefacts and dressed up in Medieval costumes to re-enact the story of how Conisbrough Castle was built and maintained. The other half of year 1 and year 2 went into the Keep and learned about the history of the Keep and looked at Lord Hamelin's and Lady Isabel's rooms. It was a great day weather wise and all children enjoyed a lovely picnic on the grounds of Conisbrough Castle and played some Medieval games. Come and have a look!
We have been working really hard on our Nativity performance...here's a sneak peek behind the scenes...
