In R.E, we have been learning about the history of Pancake Day and why this celebration is remembered by Christians. We designed a pancake and used various ingredients to make our own pancakes. It was great fun and the children now know loads about Pancake Day, and not just we eat pancakes!

To end our current topic, Once upon a Time, we had a Fairytale day. The children had great fun in the morning doing lots of Fairytale arts and crafts, including a group quiz! In the afternoon, we had some ballroom dancing with Mr Glossop, year 1 and reception, which was amazing!
On Tuesday 11th February 2020, it was E-Safety Day. We were learning about staying safe online and how our identity online should still be personal and private to us. We read some e-safety stories and discussed some Traditional Tale e-safety scenarios. In the afternoon, we were coding using directional language with partners and small groups to collect up P.E equipment.
In Maths this week, we have been learning about capacity. We measured using different liquids to create a mocktail. The children had great fun, measuring accurately to create different flavoured mocktails. They enjoyed tasting them even more!
Super proud of all the Year 2 children, you were all amazing in the Once upon a Time class assembly. A massive thank you to all the grown-ups who came to watch it and take part in the Once upon a Time quiz.
