The Inventors have been busy with their measurement unit in Maths! Today, we have been using mathematical vocabulary words to compare the height and length of objects! They all had great fun and even compared their own heights too!

What a fantastic World Book day even though some children had to celebrate remotely! The children dressed in either pyjamas or a book character and embraced the reading activities and challenges that were set that day! Well done everyone!
To celebrate St David's Day, the Inventors were asked to do either a Welsh dragon or a daffodil, the flower of Wales! Some children even tried some Welsh dancing and some Welsh baking! Have a look and see for yourself!
Please find attached the planning overview for week 2 of Spring Term 2. This should be the last week of remote learning before school commences on Monday 8th March 2021! You can also find this planning on the Marsh Lane website and Class Dojo.
To consolidate the Inventor's capacity skills, they had to write a set of simple instructions to make a drink that would be fit for a King or Queen! The children at home and at school had a great time and made some really interesting drinks too! Look for yourself! The Inventors started their unit on measurement with capacity! They used mathematical vocabulary to describe and compare different measuring vessels, jugs and cups. They used < > and = to compare volumes of liquids too! They then moved onto pictorial representations to compare and discuss capacity. What a great start everyone!
The children who are working remotely have been set a Banksy themed challenge to create their own stencil. They have designed and created some original stencils and I think they look brilliant! In reading this week, the Inventors have been learning about Victor Vocabulary questions and how to use the text to answer these type of questions. Some tricky vocabulary words but the Inventors have done amazing!
Our Spring Term 2 topic is Castles, Kings and Queens. This week's planning overview is attached here for your information. You can also access this planning overview on the Marsh Lane website via the Remote Learning tab or alternatively, see Class Dojo.
The Inventors had great fun in school and at home for the Chinese New Year. We played Chinese New Year bingo, made Chinese dragons and lanterns and even created a Chinese Dragon dance with Dance Days! All the fantastic photographs and videos were collated into a celebration video, which I hope you will enjoy watching! |
