Hello Inventors,
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy half term. Please enjoy some well-earned time off from school work (unless you have a burning desire to keep going!) Our new topic after half term will be 'The Wild West!' I also have some exciting videos to share of a new guineafowl chick that has been born this week. I will share the videos after half term. Once again, stay safe, stay alert and stay happy! Mrs Womble Once again, I have received some amazing learning from the Inventors. I have been especially impressed with the children who have completed the fair testing work for our plant science experiment.
I have attached Zac's, Emily's and Dexter's fair testing work and I can't wait to update you in a few weeks time of the progress that the plants have made! I have also put on the Marsh Lane Noticeboard on Purple Mash the completed 2Beat music sequences that you have completed so that everyone can hear the fantastic beats that you have created. Emily has been busy again this week, creating her own Pixie Houses complete with its own unicorn petting zoo. She has also used our art technique this week, creating her own ladybird picture using newspaper and paint. Keep up the hard work Emily!
A special mention to Ella and Bella for being so kind towards Scarlet. It’s so thoughtful of them to think of their friend and I know Mrs Kidman, Scarlet's mum was really proud of Bella and Ella and so am I. Thank you girls for being a super friend!
In Geography, we have been learning how to draw aerial maps and identify human and physical features. Well done Emily on creating a map of Pixie Meadows, with its own unicorn petting zoo! I really wish I could visit Pixie Meadows!
For Art this week, I asked you to have a go observational drawing and colouring in the style of the famous artist, Georgia O'Keeffe. Zac has sent me his artwork and I'm sure you will agree that it's amazing! Super work Zac, you have included lots of detail in the flower and used different art medias to colour it in.
Hi Inventors, I have attached the weekly overview for week 5 for your attention. You will also find the link to the weekly overview and the worksheets on the Marsh Lane Primary School website. Unfortunately, the home learning booklet will not attach on here so you will have to access that through the website link, sorry. Stay safe. Mrs Womble
Here is just a small sample of some of the amazing learning from week 4.
Well done to Oscar, Jacob and Jack for their amazing poppy designs. Well done to Jasper for some fantastic writing on how a plant grows and what it needs to help it to grow. Finally, well done to Ella and Zac for their fantastic writing about their friend. Keep up the hard work Year 2. Mrs Womble Emily has been very busy this week with her writing and she has written her own rhyming poem about her friends from Year 2. I absolutely loved it Emily!
I have also attached Emily's created pixie character and her fabulous character description writing. You will see that Emily has used some great adjectives and conjunctions in her writing and used correct punctuation throughout. Super writing Emily, keep it up! Mrs Womble xx |
