On Friday 8th May, it was the 75th Anniversary of VE Day and lots of people were having safe, street parties to celebrate the occasion. I have received some photographs already from Bella and Jack to show me how they celebrated VE Day. I have also attached a couple of photos from my VE Day celebrations too. If you did have a safe distancing street party or decorated your house or garden in any way, please feel free to send your photographs to our enquiries email and I will put them on here for everyone to see!

Hello Year 2, I have attached the weekly overview for week 4. The link is also on the Marsh Lane Primary School website. Once again, feel free to follow it day by day or just choose a selection of activities from it, it's completely up to you and your own family situations. Stay safe and take care. Mrs Womble
Here is just some of the amazing learning that I have received this week from the fabulous Year 2's. Staying positive is so important at the minute and this expressing joy work was a reflection on what makes the children feel happy at the minute. It was lovely to see so many of you enjoying your time with your family and staying safe at home. Well done to Ella, Savannah and Zac who's work is displayed above. This is a picture of Jacob's musical composition that he created on Purple Mash. He has experimented with different musical instruments and different long and short notes. To listen to it, logon to Purple Mash and visit the Marsh Lane Notice Board. I absolutely love this picture of Danielle as a chick! It made me laugh. I especially love the long hair on the chick it looks fabulous!
Thank you Emily for your photographs showing your practical repeating patterns work using everyday objects from your house and garden. It was lovely to see you learning outside in the sunshine too! Super work!
Jasper has been busy at home, handwriting a formal letter to Harry Potter as part of his home learning. He included all features of a formal letter and he used some great adjectives when describing his equipment list. Super proud of Jasper's fantastic handwriting too!
Jasper has also sent me some more of his home learning including; his St George and the Dragon artwork, some cress that he has grown at home, a factfile on cress and a picture from the Amazing Animals topic that we did in Spring 1. Super learning Jasper, keep up the hard work. We are proud of you!! Mrs Womble Dear Inventors,
I have been learning to brew Kombucha, an ancient Tea drink from China. It is over 2000 years old. First you make a brew - 160g sugar - 2 L Boiling Water - 8 Tea bag Leave for 30 minutes Then you have to take the teabags out and let it cool. After its cooled we put our Scoby in thats what makes it work! Leave it for 7 days then we taste it if its a bit sour its time to put some fruit it. This makes it flavoured and a bit fizzy. Fruits with more sugar make it fizzier. It’s takes 3 days to make it fizzy and I have to burp the bottles each before bed so they don’t explode! Here are my pictures! Oscar For Art this week, I set you a challenge to draw either Tinkerbell or Disney's Robin Hood using pencils and different shading techniques. I thought it would be nice to have a go myself and I even managed to get Ryan (my 13 year old) involved too! Which one is your favourite? We would love to see your drawings too so email me the photographs to [email protected]. Mrs Womble On Friday 8th May 2020 it is the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. This is the day when World War II ended in Europe. At 11 am there will be a 2 minute silence and a 'toast to heroes' at 3 pm. The Queen of England will also be making a speech at 9pm followed by a sing-along to 'We'll meet again." I hope that you will be celebrating this day, safely and within the social distancing rules, with family, friends and neighbours. Please feel free to send any photographs of your VE celebrations to [email protected].
Kind regards. Mrs Womble Thank you Willow for a super Woodland School creation. You have clearly thought about what you want your school to look like. Super work!
Mrs Womble Hello Inventors,
Please find attached week 3' s weekly overview planning for your information. Don't feel like you need to do everything on it, the ideas are just suggestions for you to do at home. I hope you are staying safe, healthy and happy. Take care. Mrs Womble fairy_letter_example.doc year_2_weekly_overview_for_parents_04.05.20.doc week_3_-_types_of_letters_powerpoint.ppt |
