THE NAVIGATORS
Year One
Miss Marsland
On E-safety day we learned about how to stay safe online. We created some posters to remind us what to do to keep safe and who we could go to if we needed any help. Come and have a look at them!

Oh how much fun did the Navigators have during their Ice Explorer morning! We re-enacted Captain Scott's journey across the Antarctica. We got on our boat the Terra Nova, did some geographical exploring and set off with our kit to reach the South Pole. We had to make some shelter (which was very funny, especially Mrs Holland and the tent!) We had yummy hot chocolate and even tried a sledging biscuit. We finally reached the South Pole but Roald Amundsen, the Norwegian, had beaten us.! Never mind, we still placed our British flag there! We worked in small groups to design, create and evaluate either an Arctic or an Antarctica scene as part of our Ice Explorer topic. Come and have a look! This week in Maths it's all about multiplication! We started the week multiplying by using repeated addition. Have a look at some of our methods that we used. We used repeated addition to create a Multiplication Monster. We multiplied by 2, 5 and 10 using cubes and practical repeated addition.
We have been making model penguins out of clay as part of our topic on the Antarctic. We painted them and have put them on display in our classroom. Come and have a look at how good they are!
Oh no! The penguins have disappeared from the zoo but who has stolen them? The Navigators had to solve some time related questions in order to find out who stole the penguins from the zoo! Ask the Navigators who it was!
