THE NAVIGATORS
Year One
Miss Marsland
On the last day of term, we celebrated our Paddington topic by making marmalade sandwiches, just like Paddington! We also brought our favourite teddies to school with us to watch the Paddington film. We had a lovely day!

This week has been Culture Week and Year 1 have been learning about the Arctic. We did some great Arctic artwork including; Northern Lights inspired pictures and 3D models of polar bears. In science, we have been learning about Arctic animals and their habitats and seasonal changes in the Arctic. We have also written our own stories about Paddington Bear in the Arctic. All our work about the Arctic will be displayed in the school hall, so please come and have a look!
For maths investigation this week, the children had to work together to find out which numbers are odd and which numbers are even. Some children worked this out by grouping their objects into 2's, others counted their objects in 2's and others shared their objects out to see if they ended up with an even amount each. They had lots of fun doing this!
For homework last week, I asked the children to create a Paddington themed piece of artwork. We had a variety of different pieces including; Paddington hat shaped buns, wooden frames of Paddington, 3D models of Paddington, marmalade sandwiches, suitcases and lots of 2D pictures of Paddington. Come and have a look for yourself!
