THE NAVIGATORS
Year One
Miss Marsland
The children had fun this week investigating capacity. Wendy the witch set them a challenge to make a potion using unicorn sick, frog wee, camel's eyeball juice and lion's blood. The results were very interesting!

We have been painting pictures of our favourite African animals for our stairs display. Come and have a look at them for yourself!
Thank you for coming to watch the year 1's last class assembly. We had a fabulous time, singing and dancing and telling you all about our topic 'The Victorians'. We hope you enjoyed it as much as us! This term indoor P.E is focused around disabled sports and how sports have to be adapted for people with physical disabilities. This week, we started off with balloon volleyball then adapted it to sitting volleyball so that we could see how volleyball is adapted for people in wheelchairs. The children loved it!
What a fantastic day! The children all looked amazing in their Victorian clothing. We turned the year 1 class into a Victorian school for the day. We used chalk all day for our writing activities including; our spellings, our number bond investigation and our handwriting practise. We sang a hymn, read a bible story and even said a prayer before lunch! Not sure the children were keen on the Victorian P.E lesson, which involved army drills and a Victorian game called 'Deer Hunter'. We used the Victorian artefacts in the afternoon and played lots of Victorian games including marbles and skittles.
